He has acted as a petroleum landman for various independent oil and gas companies and Union Pacific Resources. He has personally participated in several trends and plays in Texas, including but not limited to: The Miocene, Frio, Vicksburg, Yegua, Wilcox oil and gas trends along the Texas Gulf Coast as a landman for small oil and gas companies and for his own account and raising capital for drilling.
